We both grew up in the same urban area, where opportunities were limited. Early on, we learned that if we wanted something, we had to create it ourselves.

Tara’s Background

Tara brought that mindset into everything:

She originally planned to study business, but after a setback in economics, she pivoted to sociology with a focus on children and families. That path led her into hospitals, shelters, and eventually social work for the State of New Jersey, including a role in the highly competitive Adoption Division.

Richard’s Background

Richard’s path started with his hands.

He entered a vocational HVAC program in high school, then moved into electrical work and joined one of the largest companies building high-rises along New Jersey’s Gold Coast.

Because of his leadership and work ethic, he quickly rose through the ranks and became foreman of the electrical division, overseeing crews and major high-rise installations.

In 2007, he applied for his electrical license.

In 2008, amid a global recession, we opened our electrical contracting service business.

Building Our Service Business

It started with one truck, no roadmap, and a belief that we could build something of our own.

As the business grew, Tara joined full-time, and from that point on, we built it together from the ground up. We learned business the real way: by doing it.

Marketing, sales, hiring, operations, branding, customer experience — we tested, refined, and kept going.

Over time, we grew into a full team serving major commercial clients, with a focus on lighting retrofits, energy-efficient upgrades, and EV charger installations.

In 2024, our business was recognized on the INC 5000 list of Fastest Growing Companies.

More importantly, we built a business that works — one that supports our family, our team, and our long-term vision.
